Product Orders
All orders placed through the Website may be subject to checks through third-party credit referring agencies. This means that we may refuse to accept or can cancel any order, whether or not the order has been confirmed, for any or no reason, and without liability to you or anyone else. If your credit card has already been charged for an order that is later cancelled, we will issue you with a like for like refund. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that we hold the correct payment and contact details for you. All items sold conform to European Safety Standards and are considered safe for children over the age of three. We recommend, however, that products are suitable for children aged four or over.
Returns Policy
You have the right to a cooling off period of seven days after you have placed your order, during which time you may cancel your order for any reason and return any goods received within this time to us for a full refund. You can notify us in writing to returns@sylvaniangroup.co.uk of your intention to return the goods within this seven-day period. Returned items should be undamaged, in a re-saleable condition and in the original packaging.
Buyers are responsible for paying for postage costs for returning the item (This period is extended to 14 days over the Christmas period). If the goods are faulty, you can return them to us and we will refund the full amount plus any returned postage costs. We aim to respond to complaints within five working days, and we do our utmost to keep you informed of the process. Your statutory rights are not affected. All items sold conform to European Safety Standards and are considered safe for children over the age of three. We recommend, however, that products are suitable for children aged four or over.
Payment, Shipping and Handling
Payment can be easily made by all major debit or credit cards (excluding American Express) via the secure PayPal facility. Buyers will be re-directed to the secure Paypal website on checkout to make payment. You do not have to sign-up to PayPal to make use of this service. sylvaniangroup.co.uk does not currently accept payment by cheque, postal order, or any other such means beyond the PayPal payment facility. Goods shall also only be despatched upon receipt of cleared funds.
All shipping and handling costs are calculated upon a buyer proceeding through to the checkout. Prices quoted are inclusive of V.A.T. This amount will be shown on the cart value at checkout. sylvanian.co.uk presently only deliver orders to residencies (whether business or residential) in the U.K.. We are not able to deliver to Postal Order (P.O.) Box addresses or locations classified as overseas. This excludes Jersey, the Bailiwick of Guernsey (the “Channel Islands”) and the Isle of Man, which, although are part of the British Isles, are not part of the UK.
Orders are sent by Royal Mail (Tracked first or second class delivery as standard). We use the 'Tracked' (a.k.a. "Recorded") method of delivery as standard to enable you to trace your parcel. Whilst the cost of this service is very slightly more than normal first or second class delivery, it is administered on this basis for your peace of mind. All deliveries will require a signature to confirm receipt. If nobody is in when the delivery is attempted, the courier will leave a card and the parcel will be re-delivered the next working day. If you are unable to arrange to be in to receive the delivery, you can contact the postal depot to re-arrange delivery, or arrange for the parcel to be delivered to a local Post Office for collection by you or to arrange collection from the depot itself. If you refuse to accept a delivery, or you fail to contact the postal depot within 21 days of them making their second delivery attempt, the parcel will be returned to us as a rejected delivery. In such circumstance, you will be charged for any additional shipping costs incurred.
We are unable to guarantee next day delivery, but will strive to process your order as quickly as possible upon receiving notification of your cleared funds. Please allow up to 14 days for delivery. Larger orders may require an additional postage charge. We will email you with any additional postage costs to be applied, if applicable. We will normally process your order within two working days, however please allow 7 –14 days for delivery. If your item is not in stock, we will back-order it for you. You will always be emailed with expected delivery times or the option to cancel your order, if preferred. We will never ask you for your financial details from which to credit your account. If, in the unlikely event you are asked for your financial details, please assume this to be fraudulent. We conform to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.
